To create your own character you use the menu at the top of the screen, as well as the various colours underneath it, and options you can change between from the bottom of the screen, using the two arrows and the bracket between them.

You can change the skin color of the alien, the various facial features of it, and you can of course change its clothing because these aliens wear clothes as well, so you get to mix and match tops, bottoms, hats, and even add things around them such as guitars, volleyballs, or you can use classic accessories like glasses, jewelry, and others.
