No matter if you're playing in the story mode or the free play mode, you've still got to hit all the notes of the songs in their charts when your turn comes to win, which happens once you've reached the conclusion of the song.

To do this, watch for when arrow symbols above BF match with one another and immediately press the same arrow keys. Don't miss doing it multiple times in a row, since that means you will lose the game and have to start it again from scratch.
