You're invited to take part in the Doodle Champions Island Games by Google! Participate in all the games and try to win them all!

🏆 Can you win the Google Doodle Champions Island Games?

With your cat character, you arrive at Champions Island, where the Games take place every four years. You will walk from one red gate to the other, until you participate in all of the sports events and competitions. Try your best at all of them to see if you can win! If not, play them again until you master them! You also want to be champion, no?

🏓 Start with Table Tennis!

Hit the ball with your racket onto the table, and make it go past the net on the other side, the side of your opponents. If you hit the table once and it goes out, you score. If you hit the table twice on your rival's side, you also score.

The first ping pong player to score three points will win. We hope that it is you!

🛹 Go Skateboarding!

As you skate around the courses, you have to perform as many tricks as possible to get a big score before you run out of time! There are ramps and ledges all over the place for you to use. Here are the tricks you should attempt to perform:

1. Nose Grab (+100)
2. Kick Flip (+200)
3. Barrel Roll (+300)
4. One Eighty (+300)
5. Headstand (+500)
6. Helicopter (+500)

When you find the panels showing you these moves and the points you get in return, they also show you the directional keys you have to use to perform them.

🏃 Do a Marathon!

The next challenge we found was a running race, not a car one. Run and avoid the obstacles you encounter to go faster, win the race, and rack up a lot of points!

• avoid the octopi, the crabs, and going off-road, since they slow you down;

It was the first competition we won, getting first place. We won a scroll thanks to it. Can you earn more of them?

🏉 Play a Rugby Match!

Get the ball across the field ahead of all your rivals as you avoid the obstacles and enemies when running towards your goal. Pass the ball if necessary to keep it for your team, so it does not get stolen. Pick up the power-ups:

• 😈 the devil upgrade gives you more power
• ⚡ the lightning bolt gives you more speed
• 🥷 the ninja upgrade gives you a defensive shield

🧗 Start Climbing!

Climb to the top of the mountain as fast as possible. Don't fall off, and avoid obstacles, since they slow you down or cause you to fall!

• the balloons help you float around, so grab onto them;
• avoid the falling snowballs;

🏹 Don't miss (at) Archery!

Hit the targets with your bow and arrow, and try to outscore the game's champion before running out of time. Move left and right to get in position, and then shoot the arrows!

• 🌸 shoot the floating flowers for extra points;

🏊‍♂️ Try Artistic Swimming!

To do artistic swimming in this game means swimming to a beat. In this rhythm game you need to press the arrow keys to hit the matching beats in time with the music and score! If you miss too many beats, you lose!

👣 Walk your own path!

When you reach the center of the island, you can see multiple statues. Each statue depicts the champion of that game. When you become that game's champion, your statue will be put instead.

From the statues, you can see the paths that you have to walk on to reach the gate representing each mini-game. Each competition has its own areas, with NPC characters representative of that area:

• in the skateboarding area you can find other skateboarders, who even have their own dojo;
• in the rugby area you will meet with Onis (demons from Japanese Folklore) who are your rival team;
• in the artistic swimming location you will find other dancers;

🎉 Side-quests Gallore!

In each region, if you talk with characters, you might find extra missions to take on: finding a missing person, maybe some objects, or just generally helping out people in need!

Here's one side-quest you can go on, which we did, and made us feel better: a toad needed help carrying a trophy, since it was too large for it. We carried it back to its home. The toad was very thankful.

You, as Lucky the Calico Cat, will try to beat all these games and their respective champions:

1. Tengu at Table Tennis
2. Tanuki at Skateboarding
3. Yoichi at Archery
4. The Oni at Rugby
5. Princess Otohime in Artistic Swimming
6. Fukuro at Climbing
7. The Kijimuna at the Marathon

🥇 Will you join a team?

You can try climbing the leaderboard as a team! There are four teams you can join. Once you do, your points also go into the team score. Beat the other three! Which one will you join?

• 🔵 Team Blue (Mascot: Oshi)
• 🔴 Team Red (Mascot: Karasu)
• 🟡 Team Yellow (Mascot: Inari)
• 🟢 Team Green (Mascot: Kappa)

2. Speaking of Japan, when you go on these quests, you feel like you're the protagonist of an Anime: by making friends, defeating villains, turning rivals into friends, saving people, helping out, and putting in effort to become the best at what you do!
3. Still in this thematic area, the gameplay reminds us of classic Pokemon Games. You can walk around the open world and choose the order in which you take part in competitions. You can speak with almost every character you meet, and they provide clues. You can find all sorts of surprises and quick-time events.
4. All the mini-games have a sport theme to them, which means that it helps the children playing them develop focus, quick reaction times, speed of action and thinking, and it makes them pursue the act of bettering themselves!
5. The side-quests of the game focus on making acts of kindness. Like we did earlier with the toad. This means that the players of this game can develop empathy and a good frame of mind to help those in need.
