Released in 2015 by indie developer Toby Fox, Undertale is a popular role-playing game (RPG) and a cultural phenomenon on the internet! It's got fan-made games, fan-art, videos, TikToks, memes, all created by its dedicated fanbase!

What is Undertale about?

Your role is that of a human child who fell into the Underground. What is there? Monsters! They live beneath the surface of the Earth and are hungry for flesh! Your goal is simple: fight the monsters, climb back up, and reach the surface!

Undertale: a game about choice

One of the things that made the game so popular is the choice-driven storyline and gameplay. You choose the best way to interact with your foes:

• fight them;
• show mercy;
• talk to them;
• and even flirt!

Multiple choices lead to multiple endings!

Based on your decisions throughout the game, you can reach different endings:

1. The Pacifist Route, where you spare all your enemies.
2. The Neutral Route, where you kill some monsters and spare others.
3. G*nocide Route, where you have killed all monsters in front of you.

Meet the cast of Undertale!

• Sans, a skeleton who is laid-back, makes puns, but can be quite powerful!
• Papyrus is Sans's younger brother. He is confident, loyal, and kind-hearted!
• Toriel is a goat-like monster who is kind, gentle, and protective of the player. She also gives you your tutorial when you begin!
• Undyne is a major boss of the game, a fish-like creatures, and a fearless warrior!
• Flowey looks like a cute talking flower, but is a manipulative and evil antagonist who wants your demise!
