When you see floating arrow symbols match above the character to the right, usually BF, you need to press the identical arrow keys to hit your notes and do it until the song concludes to win, being careful not to miss notes multiple times in a row, because that will instead lead to your loss.
Of course, this is true whether you're playing in the story mode or free play one, so make your choice, and then start giving the game your best and have fun!
