Firstly, you should know how to control and drive your virtual ATVs:

Player 1 drives with WASD, and L-shift for NOS.
Player 2 drives with the ARROW keys, and M for NOS.

If you're choosing the Free Drive mode, go around the tracks and only try not to crash too much, while in the Race mode, you have to beat the other ATVs to the finish line and cross it first. In the time attack, you're also racing to the finish line, but you have to reach there before the time granted for it runs out on you completely.
