As your rowers keep doing what they do best, which is rowing, you will see color spots in the shape of your boat in the water, and when you get over it and it turns from red to green, at that moment you have to tap on the screen, which gives you not only points but a speed boost as well.

Keep timing the clicks in the green spots one after another, and if you keep doing that and get faster, you will eventually get ahead of all the other boats, until you win the whole race, simple as that.
