Whether you are facing your antagonists in the story mode or free play mode, winning is achieved by playing all your notes according to the charts and reaching the song's conclusion, when the progress bar is fully tilted towards BF, your protagonist that you embody.

As for how you hit those notes, you press arrow keys at the same time as the identical arrow symbols above BF match one another but don't miss doing it multiple times in a row, or you lose and have to start again from scratch. Enjoy!
