The prologue is what you have to finish first, called the Newbie Chapter, where you learn more about the game's mechanics, but before that, here's what you can see in the main menu:

When attacking with a spear, use the mouse to determine angle and strength, releasing to make the shot, and if you are attacked instead, protect yourself by clicking the shield button. You can use either the manual or the automatic attack.
