Po is a Panda that we follow in a world of anthropomorphic animals, where he is the only one around, with the culture he is in being based on a real-life Chinese one. He starts out as just a big fan of Kung Fu martial arts, while clumsily working at his father's noodle shop, but through the course of Kung Fu Panda (2008) we learn that he is destined to become the Dragon Warrior, and under the guidance of Grand Master Oogway he joins the team known as Furious Five:

1. Tigress, the leader and founder of the team, and a ferocious warrior.
2. Viper, who is a snake, behaves sort of like a mother to the rest of the group.
3. Monkey, is the first to recognize Po, who uses weapons in fights.
4. Mantis might be the smallest in the team, but the strongest and fastest one.
5. Crane is the team's scout, and the one to help transport the team to their mission's location.

Po, with the help of his newfound friends, teammates, and family, defeats the threat of Tai Lung, an ancient threat to the world. In Kung Fu Panda 2 (2011), a new foe appears in the form of Lord Shen, who wants to use a cannon to destroy China and its martial arts tradition once and for all. We then have the trilogy conclusion in Kung Fu Panda 3 (2016), where Po becomes a teacher, but also reunites with his father and other families of pandas, who help him defeat General Kai and his army of Jade Zombies.

We also need to mention two of the most important television series based around the series, which aired on Nickelodeon, and a third one that has been announced:

• Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness (2012-16)
• Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny (2018-19)
• The Dragon Knight (2022)
