Here we've got a new browser-ready, free-to-play, easy-to-understand Mario Game: it is inspired by older games from the original Nintendo series, but with new graphics, easy computer mechanics, and most importantly, new levels!
Princess Peach has been taken away by Bowser. Through the many levels of this game, you help Mario inch closer to her to save her. For that, you need to jump, and avoid obstacles, hazards, and monsters, while collecting coins and power-ups.
Master the art of avoiding dangers, using powers, and collecting of items. Mario needs all the help he can get! Use the arrows to move, Z to jump, and X to shoot.
The main areas to avoid are the non-areas, meaning the pits. Don't fall in between the land, in the holes, or you die. Your character only has three lives. If you lose them, you lose the game.
To get past bigger pits, use platforms that move left and right, or elevators that go up and down. You can also jump on the blocks that are higher, and one by one, cross over to the other side.
A classic feature of Mario Games is the monsters you encounter. Turtles, Koopas, with this game, also have flying ones, dinosaurs, or the man-eating plants that come out of the tunnels. Don't touch them, they make you lose your life instantly.
Except for the plants, you can kill the monsters, which also gives you points. Jump on top of their heads, stomping them. If you catch the flower upgrade, you can shoot at them. To shoot fire, press X, but only when you're equipped with the power-up. Speaking of!
Hit blocks with question marks on them, and some of them reveal mushrooms and other upgrades. Take them and use them to your advantage:
Not all the green tubes have man-eating plants in them. If you see nothing coming out, go to one, and press the down arrow key when on top of it. In most nothing happens, but in some of them, you find new locations. There you can collect coins and power-ups freely! Some even teleport you further up ahead in the level.
Coin-collecting is a classic element of Mario Bros Games. Catch them from out in the open, or hit the bricks with question marks on them, to get them from inside. If you hit normal bricks and destroy them, you gain points.
Points are different, and they are received by destroying bricks and stomping on the monsters!
