With the mouse, you are going to shoot your weapon towards the red guards with masks that have various geometrical shapes on them, and depending on the character you will need to shoot them more times or fewer times to completely take them down.
Either way, your number of shots is limited per level, so don't miss too many times, because you won't have enough ammo to completely eradicate your targets.
As you progress and keep completing levels, you will also be able to buy stronger weapons, which is recommended, because you get more enemies down the line, and they also get more difficult to beat.
