About Pokemon Black

This game, released in 2010 for NintendoDS, in tandem with Pokemon White, is the first installment in the fifth generation of Pokemon Games. It has a new protagonist you become where you have to catch new Pokemon, fight trainers, defeat gym leaders, and beat the new team of villains!

As usual, it's a game with an overhead perspective, played with a 3rd person view, belonging to the RPG genre. It's got plenty of action and adventure, easy game mechanics, and a huge open world to explore!

Take part in engaging turn-based fights between monsters, and make the best decisions to achieve victory!

A new setting and story!

Unova region is the new location you visit in this game, which was inspired by New York City, where you play as either Hilbert or Hilda. From Professor Aurea Juniper you can choose your starter Pokemon:

Snivy
Tepig
Oshawott

As you progress through the game, meet and defeat the eight Gym Leaders. To further cement your place as the top trainer, defeat the Elite Four as well!

Team Plasma, a new threat rises!

This new team of villains aims to liberate Pokemon from their trainers, considering they are being oppressed. Defeat their leader, N, and the legendary Pokemon he holds:

Make the best decisions to win the Pokemon battles!

The battles of monsters here are turn-based. You make your attack, and after your opponent will make theirs. Deplete the enemy of their health bar to win, as the last trainer with a Pokemon standing up wins!

Two new Battle Mechanics:

Triple Battles, where you send out three Pokemon at once.
Rotation Battles, where teams send their Pokemon in a circle to fight and change between one another.

Intuitive controls!

Use the arrow keys for moving, and Z and X for interactions of all kinds.

Catch wild Pokemon and train them!

Through the region, you encounter pocket monsters out in the wild. Defeat them in battle, and when they are weak enough, throw Pokeballs at them if you want to capture them. Send enough balls to catch them, and add them to your roaster!

Evolve the Pokemon!

The more you fight, the more EXP - experience points - your Pokemon will get. Get enough to advance from one level to another, until they evolve to stronger versions of themselves. This is called evolution. As you level up, their attacks also get stronger, providing an advantage in battles!
