To control your Red Ball you use the arrow keys for moving and jumping, and you have to reach the end of each level, going through one checkpoint to another, and collecting as many if not all the stars along the way, which you should focus on if you want a big score at the end of each course.
You need to be careful not to touch the enemies, the blocks, but you can defeat them by jumping over their heads and stomping them. You also need to avoid the seesaws and any other kinds of dangers and traps you encounter along the way because if you hit into them and lose your three hearts, you lose the game.
